FAQ
NoVA Hypnosis and Wellness helps you get unstuck and become unstoppable!
Most of our competitors do not do a face-to-face Initial Assessment before starting a hypnosis program. Instead, they offer a “Free consultation” over the phone which is really nothing more than a “sales call.” Then they try to get clients to sign up for hypnosis meetings, “sight unseen.”
We think this is a mistake.
We believe ensuring clients feel respected, heard and understood is of paramount importance and that, generally, this can only be accomplished in a face-to-face setting, whether in-office or on video chat for your convenience.
Additionally, we have found that without context about what to expect on their unique journey, most clients do not know how to take maximum advantage of a hypnosis program because it’s so different from traditional talk therapy or coaching. This lack of understanding at the beginning often leads to disappointment and disillusionment with the hypnosis process, the hypnosis provider, and the hypnosis profession in general.
We absolutely refuse to allow that to happen.
Your success is our number one priority, so, in addition to ensuring you feel respected, heard and deeply understood, we do an Initial Assessment so you can take maximum advantage of your investment and walk away from the experience absolutely ecstatic about the results.
There are two basic characteristics to a good Initial Assessment:
- A thorough intake where you feel respected, heard and deeply understood
- A comprehensive collaborative strategy for creating meaningful and lasting change
I’m going to cover each one briefly here.
- The intake process starts with the Client Intake Questionnaire, Mindset Inventory, and Values Questionnaire, each of which we ask that you complete at least 48 hours prior to your appointment in order to give your provider time to review your information and come well-prepared to your meeting. Sending in your forms early allows you to get the most out of your 90-minute experience and is one of the hallmarks of a good Initial Assessment.
- After the intake, your provider will collaborate with you to craft a comprehensive strategy, like a roadmap for creating meaningful and lasting change. Together, you and your provider will co-create this personalized roadmap for helping you to achieve your definition of success, not anyone else’s.
Let me be blunt: We are NOT the lowest priced providers of hypnosis in the DC Metro Area, primarily because our process works really well and, as a result, we are the highest rated providers in the local area. We have more 5-star ratings on Yelp than any other provider by a long shot and our Google reviews show the same.
But back to cost: the bottom line is that all of our services are customized to meet your unique needs, so we have no “cookie-cutter” pricing options to offer you. Instead, we meet with you for a comprehensive Initial Assessment where we create a customized strategy for success together with you, based on your personal definition of success, your budget, and your desired timeline for results.
Having said that, I can share with you a range of prices I have seen in the past. Specifically, I have seen customized hypnosis programs as low as $1995 and as high as $12,995 with the difference primarily resulting from the number of meetings desired, the choice of provider, the complexity of the issue, and the amount of homework that was required in between meetings.
The short answer is that we are exceptionally honest in our promises and we only offer what we know we can deliver.
The long answer is that we are not only honest, but careful. Sometimes a client may have a very effective single meeting to resolve an issue, but that single meeting provides only a bandaid solution and doesn’t resolve the deeper issues that drove the individual to develop the problem in the first place. Sometimes, the issue will transfer elsewhere, and a smoker will begin overeating or a nail biter will begin pulling her hair, for example.
We believe that if we don’t design a custom plan for our clients that addresses their needs long-term, our clients are at risk for complications and future disappointment.
Above all else, we care deeply about our clients being able to safely and effectively reach their desired outcomes and for that reason, we don’t offer single meeting promises.
Hypnosis online through video chat works exactly same way as hypnosis in person and there are just five key things you need in order to have a successful experience:
- The first thing you need is a web cam so your provider can see you. Any web cam is fine; meanwhile, please know that your provider’s audio-visual set up will be as good or better than what you see now as you watch this video.
- The second thing you need is a high-speed internet connection. This can be a home, office, or public wifi or even cell data on your smart phone will work.
- The third requirement is a quiet space with no distractions: no dogs, no cats, no kids, no parakeets, and no one else sitting in the room watching you, making you feel uncomfortable. A lot of our clients enjoy using their parked cars because the space is private, the seats recline, it’s air conditioned, it’s sound proof, and usually those dashboard cell phone holders are perfectly positioned for use during the meeting. But, of course, if your car is not quite so comfy, any room in your house, or your office, is fine.
- The fourth thing you need is a comfortable place to sit. Again, this is why the car is so popular, but a comfy office chair, a couch, bed, or a recliner works well too.
- Lastly, you need 15 minutes of down time prior to the start of the meeting where you’re not doing anything else. With online meetings, it’s easy to assume you can continue doing something unrelated, like working on a project until the very last minute and then just jump online to start the work. That is not a good idea because you’ll likely waste the first few minutes of the meeting decompressing instead of connecting with your provider.
