Hypnosis for Weight Loss

For some of us, it is hard to find a weight loss regimen that really works. It’s easy to lose a few pounds on a fad diet, but keeping that weight off can be a struggle! Here at Peak Performance Associates, we know that each client’s body is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution to weight loss. That’s why we offer personalized approaches to help our clients stay on track with their weight goals.

One of the most common questions we get asked is, Can hypnosis help me lose weight?

Our answer is, you bet! And, unlike dieting, research indicates that hypnosis can provide higher levels of motivation and longer lasting results.[1]Our clients typically report a significant decrease in the behaviors that led to weight gain in the past (e.g. emotional eating, boredom eating, cleaning their plates, etc.) after only one session. *

How does hypnosis work?

We use a powerful, interactive and fun process of hypnosis whereby the therapist guides the client to the appropriate level (depth) of hypnosis for the presenting problem through a series of suggestions. Once at the appropriate level of hypnosis, the client’s subconscious mind is optimally open and receptive to the combination of positive suggestions co-created by the client and the therapist during the intake portion of the session. Because hypnotherapy occurs on the level of the subconscious mind, change can be more dramatic, noticeable and permanent then when the conscious mind is engaged.

Hypnosis is gaining more and more recognition nationwide as an established option for weight management. One University of Connecticut study reported that subjects who used hypnosis lost more weight than 90 percent of the other participants. Better yet, by two years later they had maintained the weight loss.1 Another study found that hypnosis more than doubled average weight loss among subjects.

How long will it take for me to notice a change in habits?

Many of our clients have reported completely reversing their lifelong reliance on food for comfort after only four or five sessions. *Come in and try for yourself! You’ve got nothing to lose (except those extra pounds!)

* As with all complementary and alternative medicine practices, results may vary.
